It was my birthday on Tuesday. Ryan sent me a huge thing of 33 pink roses from wherever he is.
One for every year that I have trudged on this miserable planet. Yikes! Hi birthday depression!

Then we went out for lunch at work. Jesse was like, "Order the craziest thing on the menu!"
So I got something called like, "Angel Martini" or something, which was basically chopped up
fish and crunchies served in a martini glass. Wacky! But actually really good.

Fish-egg rainbow!

Ugh. Continuing in the grand tradition of seafood that freaks me the fuck out, say hello to a
plateful of my worst nightmare.

Jesse likes to make me eat scary food (see the disastrous crab-claw incident circa a few month
ago). So he decided that I had to eat a baby octopus. Particularly this guy. Grossitating!!
(PS: For the few of you out there who may be unfamiliar with my eating habits, I have an extreme
aversion to eating anything with an exoskeleton and/or more than four legs. It's just not cool.)

I really couldn't do it. I wasn't faking to be funny. Every time the chopsticks neared my face zone
I would jerk away uncontrollably and making gasping noises that Jesse described as "rapey."
It took forever to psych myself up. I just wanted to get it over with! So finally:

He stuck it in. Ha ha ha! I think I blacked out for a second.

All the aftermath pictures are blurry because I was twitching around so much.

I tried to chew fast and just swallow it all but it was so gross and rubbery it wouldn't go down!!!
I almost spit it out but I soldiered on.

It tasted like rubberbands dipped in vinegar. And oh yeah, not such a fan of vinegar either!

I swear I could feel all those chewed up little tiny rubber suction cups as they slithered down my
throat. Guhhh.

That's right. Laugh it up, guys.

Thanks to everyone for being so nice to me! Oh and thanks to Patrick for capturing the whole
octopus ordeal on film!

Later in the evening, after my stomach settled, har har, Jen and Lez took me out for pedis.
"Jappy Birthday" to me, hahaha! UGH. Kill me.

It was so fun! Thanks for the hello kitty bandaids and fancy hair stuff too!
xoxo

Not too shabby.
